24-MAN TEAM NEWS |

September 25, 2008 Well boys, here it is. Final match of 2008. Lets go out with a bang. We have been deserted by a number of our regulars. It gives some new people a chance to step up to the plate. As always there will be a $10 team skins game. I will need to leave immediately following my round. Dave Sack has graciously agreed to stick around and collect money and record the results. Please keep a card with your team best ball to turn in to Dave. We are down 3 points to Hiawatha, but we do have home field advantage. Play well. 7:29 Joe Sicora and Dave Sack 7:38 Kurt Halstrom and Greg Fox 7:46 Bob Lapoint and James Hennen 7:55 Mark Peterson and Duane Peterson 8:03 Ed Talbot and Greg Blackwood 8:12 Tim Clark and Dana Erdahl 8:21 Tim Gomilak and Kent Walker 8:29 Kelvin Vue and Chip Norby 8:37 Kevin Horvath and Jon Erickson 8:46 Gary Schrantz and Tim Hoag 8:54 John Dodd and Darrell Lee 9:03 Jon Spetz and Dave Christopherson September 7, 2008 Thanks to everyone who played today. We are only down 3 points to Hiawatha with a return match at Fox on sept. 28. We will need a good turnout to beat them for the consolation championship.( I think it would be a perfect weekend for college students to make a trip home and play some golf). The weather mostly cooperated, but the course played a little long. There were 5 skins: Jacobson -horvath 3 on 18, kostelecky -sicora 3 on 5 and 4 on 7, Halstrom -walker 3on 9and Cargill -Ferber a 3 on1. If you did not get your money, I will leave it in the pro shop. September 4, 2008 We are at Hiawatha on Sunday. We will be back at home on sep. 28. This is the consolation championship. We are missing our college contingent plus a few others. We need everyone to step up and win points. Hiawatha did beat us a couple of years ago,so there is the revenge factor as well. Here is the line up. 7:30 Jeff Jacobson and Kevin Horvath 7:40 John Hygrell and Tommy Smith 7:50 Scott Kostelecky and Joe Sicora 8:00 Tim Gomilak and Mark Peterson 8:07 Mike Manion and Tom Vandewalker 8:15 Gary Schrantz and Tim Hoag 8:22 Kurt Halstrom and Kent Walker 8:30 Kelvin Vue and Chip Norby 8:40 Jason Cargill and Mark Ferber 8:50 Mike Fairchild and Bob Lapoint 9:00 Richard Walker and Duane Peterson 9:07 Jon Spetz and Dave Christopherson As usual we will have a skins game($10/team), please keep a card with your bestball score as well. I will be collecting when you come in unless you want to pay me ahead of time. Please confirm that you have received this e-mail and that you will be in attendance on Sunday. Joe Sicora August 3, 2008 Well boys, This is a first. Monticello literally can only come up with 2 players who are willing to come and take us on. Their captain is ashamed and apologizes. He is going to come and play on our fine course, but the match has been conceded and we are moving on to the next round on sep. 7. July 13, 2008 Thanks to everyone who played today. We are ahead 24 -12. Monticello was missing several of their better players and I'm sure will be coming at us hard on aug 3 at home. Everyone whose handicap starts with a 3 or lower please keep aug 3 open. As usual the lowest 20 handicaps who are available will be playing plus 4 captains choices. Joe Sicora July 10, 2008 Hi everyone, sorry for the delay. I've been busy and we have had a few no shows this time around. Here is the schedule at Monticello Country Club. I will be collecting for skins either ahead of time or at the finish of your round. We would like to return home on aug3 with a lead. So Play well. 800 Dunham and Sack 807 Sicora and Blackwood 815 Horvath and Weiss 822 R. Walker and D. Peterson 830 Christian and Mann 837 Schrantz and C. Smith 845 Kangas and K. Walker 852 Cargill and Vue 900 M. Peterson and Gomilak 907 Manion and Hoag 915 Fairchild and T. Wolfe 922 Kostelecky and Dodd Joe Sicora June 1, 2008 Once again thanks to everyone who played today. Special thanks to Dave Sack who as first alternate kept his schedule free in case of someone pulling up lame. We played well, fighting to an 18-18 tie at Chaska. Unfortunately we were down 3 going in and are now in the consolation bracket. Only 2 teams had sweeps, Kostelecky - Erickson and Vue - Halstrom, and 5 teams got shut out ( we won't name names in order to protect the innocent). Our next match will be July 13 most likely at Majestic Oaks, please keep your schedules free. we don't want to get beat and have to move down a bracket. As usual the final few spots will be determined by the most current handicap list in the week prior to july 13. Joe Sicora May 30, 2008 Hi Everybody, Sorry for the delay. Here is the final (unless it changes) line up for Sunday at Chaska. Please recall that we are down 3 points and missing a couple people, So grind out every 1/2 point. We do have a couple more new people playing who have played for other clubs in the past and are total studs( Mr. Walker and Mr. Lapoint have guaranteed 3 points). We need our young college golfers to get us off to a good start Mr. Dunham and Mr. Mann). I will be playing early, if you don't get your $10 team skins money to me ahead of time be prepared to pay when you come in. Good Luck and play well. Unfortunately we are down 3 points after the first round. We will be playing June 1 at Chaska town course. We will need all of our best players to be available in order to make up the deficit. Those of you who are always on the team please let me know if you can't play. Those last few spots will be based on May 23 handicaps. Excellent debut's for 2 new members, Ray Serie and Kelvin Vue who both were part of 3 point sweeps. The Fox Hollow 24 Man team won the second
half of the home-and-home series today 18 1/2- 17 1/2 on their course
without 5 of our best golfers. I'm impressed with our depth. The team
won the match 46 to 26. Next round will be at home on July 9 against
our arch enemies, Baker. I once again expect a lot of competition for
the last few spots. Play well, keep your handicaps down.

May 6, 2006 The team did well against Como in the first half of the first round at Fox Hollow. 6 of the 12 teams won all 3 points and 3 others won 2 1/2 and Fox Hollow takes a 27 1/2 to 8 1/2 lead into the away portion of the match at Como on June 4. May 1, 2006
Our first round match is against Como at
Fox on Sunday May 7. Once again we have had an excellent
turnout. We are only missing a couple of our lower handicap guys. I'm
sorry there is not room for everyone who is willing and capable of
playing. we have a large number of people with handicaps in the 5 and
6 range and the only way I know of to be fair is to take the lowest 24
who are willing and interested. No one's spot is guaranteed if their
handicap goes too high. Conversely if your handicap is low enough, I
will be calling you. I try to have everything settled a couple of
weeks ahead of each match. Our next round is June 4 at Como.
Joe Sicora, Captain Partner Pairings and tee times for the first
round match.
