The "Senior 8-Man Team" is a club versus club match play tournament conducted by the Minnesota Public Golf Association. The matches are played at scratch - no handicaps are involved. Each club sends 8 players to each match. You must be at least 55 years of age as of the date of the competition to be eligible. The 8 players are paired into 4 two-man teams. Each two-man team plays a match play match against a two-man team from the other club. The team winning the most two-man matches wins the team match and moves on. The matches are conducted on Tuesday's throughout the summer. Starting times are usually 8:00 am.

The 8-man team lost to Dwan on May 20^th. We are in the consolation bracket with next opponent Keller. Keller has forfeited the match. Our next opponent will be at Fountain Valley or Pheasant Acres on July 15^th.

Final report for 2007.
The 8-man team lost to the U of MN (winner the last 2 years) in the semifinals. Anyone that will be 55 next year with single digit handicap let us know next spring.

The Fox Hollow Senior 8-man team made quick work of Majestic Oaks. We next play the U of MN on July 18th.

The second half of the home and home match against Rush Creek was played on Tuesday, May 15. We lost the second half 3.5 to 8.5 but won the overall match 12.5 to 11.5. We move on to the quarter finals vs. Majestic Oaks in June.

Fox Hollow's 8-man senior team ran into a buzz saw last week with Bunker Hills bringing 4 former club champions to Fox and beating us 9 1/2 to 2 1/2. Even our best team of Gary Schrantz and Charlie Smith who shot a 67 best ball could only score 1/2 point. We have a rematch coming on July 18th and need to make 10 points to stay in the tournament, a tall order. We will keep you posted.

Fox Hollow 8-man senior team played is match against Greenhaven today and split with 6 points each. The total home and home score is Fox Hollow 141/2, Greenhaven 91/2 with Fox advancing to the second round. We will be facing either Bunker Hills or Highland on the 27 of June at Fox Hollow Nice playing by the old guys.
