In
this event, 4 players compete as a team. All players play their own ball on each hole. The
3 lowest net scores of the 4 players is recorded as the
team score for each hole.
The net score for each
person for a hole
is determined by subtracting any strokes that the player
receives (based on handicap) from the players actual
score. Teams are assigned by the league chairman by
a modified draw so that they are similar in
makeup. Each team will have a similar number of
high, middle and low handicap players.
Strokes
received on each hole is determined as follows: If the
players handicap is 18 or less, the player receives one
stroke on every hole for which the hole's handicap value
(see scorecard) is less than or equal to the players course
handicap. If the players handicap is more than 18,
the player receives at least one stroke on every
hole. Then subtract 18 from the players course
handicap and the player receives a second stroke (total
of 2) on every hole for which the hole's handicap value
(see scorecard) is less than or equal to the resulting
number.
Each
player should record all of their actual scores on every
hole to be used for recording in the computer to
calculate future handicaps. If one player reaches
a point where he cannot possibly get a net score that
would help his team, he should pick up his ball and record
a reasonable estimate of what his actual score would
have been.
