The
Modified
Alternate Shot event is a competition format in which
2-person teams alternate hitting a single ball after
choosing the better of both players tee shots.
To calculate your team
handicap,
add both players 18-hole course handicaps together,
divide by 4 and round up for the "Average Net
Handicap". Write the calculation on the score
card. (EX: 20 + 10=30/4=7.5 Team handicap=8.0).
Here's how the event works:
|
· |
Both players hit their tee shot from the tee box
(thus putting two balls in play for
the team). |
|
· |
Pick one of the tee shots. |
|
· |
The player shot that’s not picked will play the
second shot. |
|
· |
Subsequent shots are alternated until the ball is
holed out. |
|
· |
Write the Gross Score to the scorecard for
the respective hole. |
|
· |
Play the next hole (start with step 1 above) until
9-holes have been completed. |
|
· |
After completing 9-holes - total the Gross Score
then subtract the team's Net Handicap to attain
the team's Final Net Score, turn card into
clubhouse |
